I just want to say that i do have anxiety and OCD and i am getting help for them. ok so when i was in middle school and early high school i use to masturbate and look at pornographic images. once i found out it was a mortal sin i stopped completely. i knew i wouldn’t want my parents finding out but the thought of these are sins never popped up in my head.i did some research and saw that if you didn’t know it was a mortal sin it’s only a venial sin so i kept receiving the Eucharist. since i was still in school and felt ashamed and embarrassed to tell my parents i had to wait to go to confession at my school (i went to Catholic school all my life). but before i found out they were mortal sins i went to confession at my school and they had a power point presentation saying did you skip church did you masturbate etc. i don’t know if it didn’t click that what i was doing was on a slide show for penance or if i still didn’t know what i was doing had a name. the fact the i recently remembered the power point after confessing my sins made me start thinking is it a mortal sin because i saw the powerpoint and kept doing it or is it still venial because i didn’t know the gravity of my sins and didn’t put 2 and 2 together. i went to confession in june and i think i brought this up. i honestly can’t remember but i do remember the priest telling me i was being scrupulous. should i bring this up again in my next confession or should i just forget about it?
