Was it a mortal sin to miss Mass on Ash Wednesday?

When if ever is it okay to miss mass? My whole sob story in a nut shell is I missed mass on Ash Wednesday because I work full time on the opposite shift from my husband, had a sick kiddo, and two other tired/cranky babies. Do I need to go to Confession? Thanks for your response!
