The road to hell is paved with good intentions.Margaret Sanger may have believed she was doing a noble service to women in providing them with the ability to control their reproduction. Was she a racist?Maybe ,maybe not. However actual video tapes I have watched with her very racist comments re blacks as undesirable,as well as those disabled, leads me to believe she was.Regardless, what PP has become today, right now,is pure evil. What MS original intent for PP doesn’t change the fact that PP is an abortion mill, killing babies both in and out of the womb.😦

Well said.
Sad indeed.

Mary.

I don’t know what the letters of this website stand for.

It says she was a socialist and in her later years a republican.
Does that mean she stopped being aa socialist.

From what I have read and heard about her she seems to fit the description of a racist.

The fact that she was a republican is non-relevant. They parties have flip flopped between progressive and conservative over the years.

The only traditional difference between the two has to do with the party names. Republicans have historically viewed America as a Republic while Democrats have viewed it as a representative democracy and not a republic.

The difference between the two is subtle, but distinct.

In a republic, the people elect their representatives to learn about the issues and to vote based on their knowledge the issues.

In a representative democracy, the people elect their representatives to vote the way the people want them to vote. This is why the democrats often speak about “mandates” after they win elections.

NOW - back to the original post: yes, she was racist. Sanger believed in many of the “pure race” junk that the Nazis believed in.

Yeah, I couldn’t figure out what NNDB stands for either.

Not that it’s not possible that some of the choice racist quotes of Sanger’s have been taken out of context. Such things happen. But it’s hard for me to buy into a website that doesn’t tell you what their name stands for let alone where they are pulling their information from.

I think that our eugenic past has been whitewashed since WW2, when we saw what eugenics led to. Unfortunately, much of the activity eugenics led to in the US was not halted and continued in at least some states for several decades. NC recently (last year, iirc) voted for reparations to he paid for the victims of their covert sterilization program which did not end until the 1970s.

A lot of engenics talk was racist and extremely common: it was what those who kept up with the times would think, because it was new and based on scientific thought.

  1. Sanger was a racist. She believed in eugenics and that black people were inferior.
  2. PP is guilty of institutional racism. Black people make up 13.2% of the US population, but account for 36% of abortions in the US.

Couldn’t have said it any better. 👍

My experiences in life has shown me you should judge others by their actions. Most Pp are in the minority areas. The fastest statics on black pregnancies is 70 percent are aborted. Given the number of speeches she has given on eugenics her support of the KKK I think you can safely say she was a racist. Her life story is evil indeed. I always wonder why people like her never speak to there own faults, just the life of others.

Those are my thoughts too.

She was frequently a speaker at women’s clan events. You be the judge.

And a shocking 50% in NYC.

She was a racist!!! Read some of her quotes…especially the one that says they want to EXTERMINATE the negro population! It’s no coincidence that most planned parenthood locations are in minority areas.

I’ve said it before (on this site & others) & I’ll say it again: pro-life organizations would do well to promote the statistics on black abortions. Where is the NAACP & “black lives matter” groups??

Or our president,for that matter…:::mad:

Yes.

I’m pretty sure at one point she gave a lecture to KKK members.

And regardless of her views on race, her support of Eugenics is downright reprehensible.
