I would appreciate any (name removed by moderator)ut about this theory.
I seem to remember this “conspiracy theory” from the 1970s but my husband was just listening to a radio station that hosted an author/investigator (missed his name) who claims Knights Templar killed Pope John Paul l because he found out about the Vatican money laundering.
I apologise if I didn’t word my question correctly.

I know this is a subject that people are going to tip toe around It’s hard to talk about because no one wants to believe that anyone would commit such a sacrilege against this Pontiff. Yes, I believe that Pope John Paul I had his life taken by individuals close to him. One cannot say such a thing would not happen…just as they tried to take the life of St. John Paul II., or the shooting down of an Archbishop as he was saying Mass. They tried to silence all of them for different reasons We need to pray for this world we are living in… During the past few weeks the readings at Mass have been about Revelations, the prophecy of Isaiah, the foretelling of the Messiah coming back. We need to listen. God bless us all.

Murder certainly gets more clicks and sells more ads than death by natural causes.

I shall assume there was no foul play.

While these things are exciting to speculate about, the evidence I have read suggests that the Pope was having chest pains the night before, chose not to call the doctor, and subsequently died of a heart attack.

Which individuals? Names, please?

It didn’t happen. There, I’ve said it.

The murder of Oscar Romero, like the attempted murder of John Paul II, took place in public. Everyone who was there saw what happened. There was no doubt about the cause of Romero’s death or the Pope’s injuries. The sudden death of John Paul I was quite different. He was found dead in bed one morning. He was 65 and he had recently gone through an extremely stressful experience. There is not the slightest reason, not a shred of evidence, to suspect anything other than natural causes.

I stand firm in my belief that this gentle Pope’s life was taken from him. Now just as you believe he died of natural causes. I was a child when this happened, yet I read extensively about the conflicts and different statements made. Let me rephrase for your benefit that ’ One cannot say such a thing could not happen." As far as St. John Paul II and St. Archbishop Romero being shot and it being witnessed by those around, this is quite true. Yet this also happens behind closed doors. We have a difference of opinion over what I believe reasonable evidence tells me Pope John Paul i 's life was taken. God bless you.

I have never seen anything that could be called “reasonable evidence”. Have you? What was it?

Bear, in all due respect these things are not exciting to speculate about. It is sad and heart breaking.

Bartholomew, we can keep going back and forth I respect your right to believe what you do. I expect the same. I do not think I need tell you any further…I have two kids to get to school…You want to pursue this…I don’t…God bless you.

David Yallop (27 January 1937 – 23 August 2018) wrote “In God’s Name” an investigative book about the possible murder of Pius l.
Really no need to be sarcastic.

There are lots of conspiracy theories that abound. I haven’t seen any credible evidence to support such a theory. But people will believe what they want to believe.
