WrestLamia! They have a lot of great videos on pro-wrestling & pro-wrestlers. As far as Miss Elizabeth being a sexist, I don’t know why anyone would think she would be sexist.

Well, didn’t Miss Elizabeth act submissive toward “Macho Man” Randy Savage during the period in which they were both in the World Wrestling Federation? I can’t say that Miss Elizabeth said a whole lot on camera during the period in question.

But that doesn’t necessarily make her sexist. If she were sexist, she would have been the domineering one, stereotyping him & belittling him.

Maybe I didn’t phrase my initial question quite right. A number of women’s groups criticized the Miss Elizabeth character.

Maybe that’s why her character changed to being more aggressive in WCW.

I don’t think Miss Elizabeth as her character was presented was sexist, but in today’s world it would be considered sexist. Of course, modern society is so inconsistent and hypocritical in what it considers sexist so it doesn’t really hold much weight as far as I’m concerned.

It’s wrestling. They have a lot of -isms that don’t work elsewhere. -Isms are part of the appeal of the sport.
“Isms are not good. I quote John Lenin. ‘I don’t believe in Beatles. I only believe in me.’” - Ferris Bueller’s Day Off

If Miss Elizabeth bothered folks, I can’t imagine how they felt about Goldust…

It’s not my thing, but a friend of mine is still very much into it… but as a form of theatre not sport. He sees ties to an earlier form of over the top “cartoonish” Italian theatre- can’t remember the name now.

Oh my gosh my other half loves WWE, NXT, WCW, the list goes on 😆 I compromise by watching wrestle mania and royal rumble with him. I hate wrestling 🤼‍♂️

That’s why it’s called sports “entertainment” to distinguish it from an actual sport.
