My girlfriend and i were doing some bible studies the other day. And she informed me that in the book of Genesis before God created man he was referred to as God. However after he created man he was referred to as Lord God. She said by using Lord genesis was referring to Jesus Christ way before the new testament was even written. And the word Jehovah is the hebrew word for lord? She is not a JW this just came up in our lesson.
She also mentioned that in the Old testament a different word for God was used then what we use. It was a plural form, not in the sense more then one God but to allude to the trinity. She said that the word Deity actually is a more correct translation, because in the english language at that time there was no word to translate the hebrew word for God into our language.
I don’t know if I understand what she was saying or agree with it. It seemed a lot different from anything I was taught. Has anyone heard something along these lines before?
