Was there once a female Pope?

Someone mentioned on a messageboard (one that has nothing to do with religion) that Pope Joan John Anglicus was actually a woman. Of course, I don’t believe this but after searching on Google I started reading up on articles, and they were referring to the Pope as her, another article stating that Pope Joan John Anglicus was a woman. Can you confirm this?
