I looked at Porn briefly the other day. That was all. I just know my devotions are helping me. But I was tempted and tried several things. I didn’t just say to myself, “I will look at this.” I resisted. I tried one technique, “I command all those tempting me to go to the foot of the cross to be judged my our Lord.” That sometimes does a lot. But not this time. In what ways can we draw strength? What about the “Michael…” prayer. I need all I can get when it comes to help from temptations.

I can not think of one time when this has failed me: making the sign of the cross reverently.

I put in a 911 call to Our Mother or my Guardian Angel. Something like “Mary! Please help me!” Or “Guardian Angel! Save me!” Something quick and desperate, dispensing with the normal formalities I use, cause it is really an emergency!

I would not address the temptation or the tempter directly. Why spend time talking to the problem? It seems to me that this practice attributes too much power to the problem and not enough on the solution.

Praying the St. Michael prayer is an excellent option as is invoking the intercession of any of the Saints. This allows our Lord Himself to deal with the problem.

Be at peace.

Be careful to avoid near occasions…

Have blocking software…etc etc.

Some temptations are more combated “directly” - with emphasis on “fight”.

Others like temptations against faith or to lust - are best fought by “flight”.

“Flight more than fight” here. That is the age old advice here.

Be brave and* run away.*…and run to the Lord and Our Lady.

I always remember scripture and this comes to mind.

1 Corinthians 10:13

No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.

When I am tempted I always pray a Hail Mary. Our Lady always helps us.

God Bless.

Make a habit of fasting. It reduces sexual temptations. When your stomach is empty, your mind can’t focus on sexual things. Fasting has worked for me many times.
