Ways to Improve Holy Thursday

As a Convert , Holy Thursday to me is one of the top three Days I just love going to mass.

However i do think there is a way to improve the Liturgical experience

First Lighting. It seems that many times I go to Holy Thursday Services and the Lights are just a blazing at full wattage It really doesnt have a upper room night feel to it. Cant we splurge for some candles. I enjoy so much when the Church is dimly lit except for the altar. Much more prayful

Second -Stripping the Altar. Don’t we have this in the rubics some place. The Anglican Chruches do this so well. Everything goes toward the end of the liturgy. Altar cloths, Candles on the Altar and in the background. It is very powerful.

Third- Adoration after mass It seems Adoration ends at Midnight. Why not have go till Dawn. I think this could be powerful and it would seem one could find the numbers

The Altar should be stripped at the end of Mass on Holy Thursday.

I like the idea of adoration until dawn to, if it is possible.

The altar must be stripped at the end of the Holy Thursday mass. No excuses.
Adoration is encouraged after Holy Thursday mass, but the Blessed Sacrament MUST be put away before or at midnight, as Good Friday officially sets in, and there is no adoration of the Blessed Sacrament on Good Friday, veneration of the crucifix is permitted.

Candles, though, are a nice option. I’d like to see them used on Holy Thursday. They’re used on Holy Saturday at my parish, but only for the entrance procession. I’d like to use them the whole way through, though, seeing as though its such a long mass, the candle might burn out…
