Ways to serve your Parish

What are ideas for serving a parish in simple, untried, or overlooked ways?

One nice thing to do, is to find out when the church cleaners do their work.
If it is on a Tuesday, offer to come in on Sunday nights when there is a Monday funeral to straighten the hymnals, pick up loose trash, tissues, and restock the bathrooms for tp and paper towels.
It’s terrible when people are visiting your parish and the place is trashed from the weekend Masses.

If your church runs a food pantry or helps with one, they often are responsible for picking up the cast offs of greengrocers or day-old bread from bakeries and such. A few runs with your car can really mean the world.

Try and sit through a parish council meeting. I did it once and came out convinced numerous Holy Souls were released due to my suffering.
