Good afternoon!

I have a story to share will all of you so here goes.

Every second Sunday of the month, of which today is, I bring the Blessed Sacrament to the Catholic patients in the hospital in my town. This day 19 individuals received Our Lord. It was not until I was almost finished, when the call to Evangelize happened. The maternity ward is my last stop. One of the nurses on duty did not get the chance to receive that day so I was more than happy to give her Holy Communion. The other nurse on duty, who is not Catholic asked me, “What is the Eucharist?” She told me that her husband is a minister. I then proceeded to tell her that the Eucharist IS the body, blood, soul and divinity of our Lord Jesus Christ. I told her about how our Lord instituted this sacrament at the last supper. And I told her that we are all called to partake in the communal meal that is the Eucharist. John 6:52 was one of the bible references I used. I mentioned the story from the Old Testament on how the Israelites had to partake in the sacrifice of the lamb at Passover. They had to eat the lamb or they too would have died. And I told her how we too are to partake in eating the sacrifice Our Lord prepared for us (the bible verse I quoted above). When I was finished she told me that was beautiful.

I’ve been in this ministry now for about a year and a half. I have never before had this opportunity to witness at the hospital. Our Lord spoke to this nurse. They were not my words but His. So be prepared, you will never know when you will be called to evangelize!

Very cool! 👍 Thanks for the reminder and encouragement.

What a blessing for you, and how inspiring for us! Praised be the Lord! Thank you so much for sharing with us.

Hey I used to evangelize staff when I brought communion to Catholics at a retirement center. You just never know when the chance will come up.

That’s great! I agree that you never know when you might be called to evangelize. That is why I used Vistaprint to make some Catholic.com cards inviting people to check out the website. (I got permission in advance). I kept it very basic and designed it in a way so as to hopefully appeal to the skeptics as well as the average Catholic. For instance, I kept the graphics basic enough that I’m not beating people over the head with statues and rosaries. I always make a mention of the forums. When I see a public bulletin board I’ll throw some up there. I also keep some around so I can hand it to someone if they have more questions than I can answer. I live in an area with a lot of anti-Catholicism, so my hope is that people in my area will come to the site for the opportunity to argue, and stay for the Catholic perspective.

Thank you for sharing your beautiful moments with us.

Always be prepared to give a reason for hope, to defend or share your faith. 🙂
