We want to marry but are we even allowed to?

Maybe not illicit but if you are going to become Catholic, why marry outside of the Church? Just for expediency’s sake is not a valid reason. Like I said, it’s like saying you want to be Catholic, but not yet so we can do what we want. Like St. Augustine saying, “God make me pure, but not yet.”

Note: none of this applies to the OP who seems like a very reasonable and intelligent young lady.
 
SO good we agree that there is nothing necessarily wrong with two protestants marrying before entering the church. There could varied reasons for the couple to do so. It is neither invalid not illicit. Also it would not in anyway impede their acceptance into the church.

I am also happy the the couple will wait until they are in the Church. I also agree that the OP seems very reasonable and intelligent young lady.
