Wear scapular with prom dress?

My prom is tonight, and my mom doesn’t want me to wear my scapular because it’s too much clutter around my neck, and my dress is white and gold. I agree with her but I also don’t want to be vain and not wear it because of that. I was planning on keeping it pinned to the inside of my dress, would that be alright?
