wearing purple

I am in a choir and try to wear purple on Sundays during Lent and Advent. As was said, it compliments the surroundings. It has been too hot lately in SoCal to wear my purple sweaters. I have a couple of pretty shirts with some purple or violet in the design and may wear those. I would love to buy a tailored purple shirt that I could wear on Sundays but also to job interviews or to work when I re-enter the work force.

Last Sunday I wore a pretty green dress as did a couple of ushers. I was committed to watching my great nephews on Monday, so Sunday afternoon was my St. Patrick’s Day.

In the past, our choir members have worn the same color hues without planning, which is quite interesting. We often do end up with most of us wearing something in the purple family during Advent, but I have noticed that at times most of us are in blue on one Sunday or earth colors another Sunday. It is a strange coincidence that I think keeps us from being too distracting. That will likely change as we have more members join.

We are encourged to wear red on Pentecost.

I personally love wearing purple and rose during Advent when shopping. It keeps me focused on the reason for the season and besides there is just too much red and green at that time.
