Morgentaler is an abortion activist in Canada who has a very high profile. He runs six abortion clinics. He has made statements that abortion reduces crime in certain communities. Some people think that this thinking is eugenics.

The University of Western Ontario Senate has broken rules in order to give an honorary Doctor of Laws to Morgentaler. The protest against this award has gone international. Bishop Fabbro himself has issued an open letter against the award.
