In my parish, the FHC kids are invited to wear their Communion dresses and suits for the May Crowning of our Lady. It’s absolutely beautiful!

As far as brides go, married couples can receive a blessing from the Pope if they go for an audience in their wedding clothes. I think they are able to do it for 6 months.

Depends on the parish. Like I said earlier, our parish splits the kids up between the four big Sunday Masses so that their visiting families don’t totally crowd out regular parishoners. The parish where I grew up and made my own First Communion had a separate Mass on a Saturday afternoon for all of us.
I think I’ve only belonged to parishes whose populations were still well within the boundaries of their physical space.

True, but, when special liturgies happen, you get more than the usual crowd. As I indicated in an earlier post, you have to factor in grandpaeents, cousins, aunts, uncles, friends and then multiply that by the number of children receiving their First Holy Communion.

I’m an only child. However, my mother came from a huge family. Not only did both sets of grandparents attend, but, I also had aunts, uncles and family friends show up for the First Holy Communion Mass, which was on a Sunday.

When I was at the Cathedral, we had several parishes come in for Confirmation. Mind you, our space seats 700+. We had standing room only because literally everyone and their mother-in-law showed up.
