Hello all,

I’m getting married Saturday, and of course, I’m coming down with a cold! I’ve already started with the Zicam, and I’m going to get some airborne, but I could really use some prayers. My sister is coming out and her 3 kids have had the flu within the last couple weeks too. I’ll take the cold over the flu! Either way, I could really use your prayers for a boost in my immune system. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate this! Thanks!

Prayers headed your way!!! I was going to mention Zicam, but you beat me to it. My husband swears by his NetiPot to clear the germs out of him; might be a worth a try.

*N.B. I am not a doctor, nor do I play one on TV. *

God Bless, and all my best wishes for a wonderful (healthy) wedding and long, happy marriage.

You’re a saint! I forgot about the NetiPot! Somebody else suggested that to me earlier this year, but I had forgotten. They swore by it too!

OH NO!! I’ll pray for you, in the meantime get your butt to the doctors NOW, I caught one right before mine too, he gave me a Z-pack and I managed to recover in time!!! don’t wait!!! if nothing else he can give you some Px allergy meds to remove ALL your symptoms! I told mine (I had almost 2 weeks when I caught mine) what was going on and he loaded me up!

Well, not quite a saint, though nearly 35 years of marriage and a couple of kids can sometimes try the patience of a saint. 😉 (I’ve actually been very, very blessed in all ways.)

My husband has to be very vigilant about colds, flu, etc., as the medication he takes for a type of arthritis can really compromise his immune system. Zicam and his NetiPot are his best friends, along with a flu shot early each year. I understand, from a physician friend, that Zicam works by interfering with virus replication, which seems to make sense.

Please try to get as much good sleep as possible this week (hah - we know how hard that will be!) and eat right - lots of fruits and vegetables.

God bless!

God bless you and be with You, and give You and Your spouse the gift of a long happy marriage! It is truly a beautiful sacrament! Don’t worry about the cold…its probably because you’re stressed. Relax and accept the peace God sends to you.

Zicam and prayers should do it! Blessings on you and your marriage. ❤️

When I absolutely can’t afford to get sick I take lots of hot baths, home-made chicken soup, and orange juice, and I skip TV to sleep, instead, plus my tried and trusted medications.

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding! 🙂

If this helps console you a bit my husband came down with a BAD cold the day before our wedding. We were still able to ‘do things’ on the wedding night. 😉 He did sleep most of our three day honeymoon and while I was alone a lot while watching my new husband rest off his bad bug, it was still fun and we still had together time. I just was enjoying being married, using that quiet reflection time to let all the events of the weekend settle in. Which was actually refreshing and nice. And the marriage, the IMPORTANT part has been great. That’s what really counts. Your bride to be will agree I’m sure. 🙂
