I’m getting married in August. Our parish’s materials specify “a minimum stipend” of $200 written to the parish… and if the presider is a visiting priest/deacon, another $100 to him. It’s nice to know their request is in the same ballpark as other parishes.
Our booklet also gave ideas on musicians - anywhere from $100 for a flute or trumpet to $150 for a pianist/organist or soloist. I’ve been doing liturgical music since high school, and sometimes you can get someone to play piano/organ and sing (one person) for $150-$200. Of course, I also know a brother/sister combo who charge … well, let’s just say closer to four digits than three.
Lucky for me, I have family/friends who are experienced liturgical musicians!
Congrats on your marriage!
