Only Peter’s Pence…as a matter of fact weekly collections per se do not go to the diocese either…there is a tax of sort levied on the parishes which is paid down by Annual Catholic Appeal…but if “tax” is say, $50,000 for your parish, and the Appeal contributions from the parish is over $50,000, the amount over paid returns to the parish…unfortunately, if the Appeal only raises $40,000 from the parish, the parish owes the diocese $10 grand for the year.
