I made some friends when I was a Torah Keeper…I still leave messages and read their blogs. Is this weird as I’m a Catholic in learning? I don’t miss being one but I miss the friends sometimes.

Just wondering.

Hey Kat!

My mom is Jewish and I spent many years studying Hebrew, Torah, Talmud, Halacha…
It’s only deepened my understanding of Catholicism and helped put salvation history in context. I’ve found that now I have a lot to add to Bible study and RCIA discussions.

For a long time I could not get my head around Jesus as the Hebrew messiah and that was the only thing keeping me from fully accepting Christianity. I took a course from Scott Hahn’s group and now teach Bible study classes salvationhistory.com/ That gelled everything for me. Having this background, having studied Torah in Biblical Hebrew, really deepened my appreciation for our Church.

I hope that helps!

Doesn’t seem weird to me at all - friends are friends, even if we come to disagree with them.

Thanks! I do feel that my knowledge of the old testament has helped me in learning Catholicism. Also Catholicism explains SO much about the OT I had been missing.
