Thank you, Holy Father… Pope Benedict XVI… for visiting us in the United States! (just watched his arrival, live… on EWTN); We welcome our “Shepard”… Christ’s Vicar… with love and affection. Wishing you a happy visit… a wonderful birthday (tomorrow) 🍰 and a safe journey home. God bless you! 🙂

To all my catholic friends in the US, i envy you! Make the most of the Holy Father’s visit because it is a once in a lifetime experience. John Paul II once came to my country (Lebanon)and seeing him live is soooo much enlightening and emotional than anything you would ever experience, as he passes by in his papal car and bless you with his hand you cannot but feel God’s presence.

May his visit be a blessing to you, your family, your community and your country.

Hi Rana! I agree. I’m not in the area of D.C. or New York (where he will be, later this week), or I’d be out there! But like you, I too was blessed. When I lived in my hometown of Los Angeles, California… my family and I actually received 3 of our parish “lottery” tickets… to attend Pope John Paul II’s Papal Mass (at the L.A. Coliseum). This was in 1987. He blessed us all, and I have felt the “presence” of this holy man’s blessing all these many years later. It is truly a once in a lifetime event. And I’m so happy for the people in D.C. That they can be close to Pope Benedict… and will receive the Holy Fathers blessing. :highprayer:

We’re watching the Mass (rerun) from Nationals Stadium right now. (not crazy about the music they’re using, though). 🙂
