Let us plan a virtual Welcome Home Party for all those who will be received into or reconciled with the Church during the Easter Season. This includes all those who participate in these forums, plus all the candidates and elect being prepared by other participants here.

You may state whom you are welcoming if you like, but please list a gift you would give each of them if you had the chance, and if you like, a special food you would bring, since this will be pot-luck.

Harry, welcome home (finally–we kept you outside on the doorstep knocking for an unconciousable time). Gift is a pair of walking shoes, very suitable for a postal employee who will now be evangelizing door to door instead of delivering mail, along with the Legion of Mary. Food of course is haggis.

Welcome to our 3 candidates (1 Church of Christ, 2 Anglican) plus 12 for baptism here in this parish (3 adults, 3 youth, the rest children). Food will be botana platter (would be called fajitas anyplace else).

I’m making virtual meatballs (my specialty) and if I could give a gift, well, it would be that everyone who comes in find a loving and faithful Parish. Also, advice for every shiny new Catholic to volunteer in your Parish, we need you.

And the not-so-shiny-new Catholics, volunteer too, please!

I’ll make the banner :

[SIGN]WELCOME HOME!!!
WELCOME HOME!!!
Hope your arms aren’t
too tired from all the swimming!

:extrahappy: :bounce: :extrahappy:[/SIGN]

Can I come? I am a candidate, and will be welcomed Home May 20th by the Bishop (no one has yet to explain to me why the bishop is welcoming candidates in on a separate date).

Welcome Home all Diocese of Erie RCIAers!
Bear Hugs them into the Family

For the potluck, I am bringing my meatloaf burgers (for the carnivores) and tasty vegan "meat"loaf burgers (for the herbivores) and my Chocolate Cranberry Cake for everyone!

because he can
yes you are the guest of honor.
probably because of the size of the group
we have one night for catechumens, one for candidates because each group, with sponsors and families, fills the basilica.

Since every parish in the diocese is likely receiving adult converts on the same date (Easter Vigil), the bishop will meet the candidates and catechumens on separate days at the cathedral in Dallas. Normally, he travels to each parish when a large group of kids are confirmed because they are able to schedule it on many different dates. Obviously he cannot do the Superman and zoom everywhere on Easter weekend, so he meets and greets earlier. Perhaps this is the situation in your location?

BTW, welcome to the family! I pray that you receive the peace and joy that I have enjoyed since coming home in 2001!

I’m bringing the best “easy” brownies I’ve ever tasted
.
1 family size fudge brownie mix, 1/2 jar of Nutella (chocolate hazelnut spread) and 1/2 cup of chopped hazelnuts. Follow mix directions, stir in spread and nuts (or sprinkle nuts on top). Bake and yumOh!
