Hubby and I leave town for four days on a brief vacation, and when we return, I find about half of my flowers ravaged by some hungry critter – deer or rabbit, or ? All because I forgot to spray them with LIQUID FENCE before we left.
I had beautiful Nasturiums blooming amid their lovely foliage, and now there is nothing but bare stems on ALL of those plants.
All the foliage and buds have been eaten off of my Day Lilies, and my Asiatic and Oriental Lilies.
I managed to enclose my hollyhock seedlings and zinnia seedlings inside of mesh bells anchored into the soil with garden staples, so nothing could get at them.
I’m glad I took pictures while these others were still intact – but for crying out loud, do I have to enclose nearly EVERYTHING?
Venison, anyone? Rabbit meat isn’t bad, either.
Nothing to do about the cutworms except to try to get rid of them when I see them.
PESTS!
