Totally forgot everything I had in my mind to confess, so I just went down my “How to go to confession card” and listed everything verbatim under each of the Ten Commandments that I felt like I had done. This was my first confession, covering probably 20 years since my baptism as an adolescent, so I was understandably nervous. The priest did not make me go back and do everything more specifically. He absolved me and gave me the penance of praying one Our Father, slowly, in the church. Just thought I’d throw out a friendly word of encouragement to others about to do their first confession. It’s not that bad, and even if you screw up and forget like me, the priest doesn’t get mad at you. 🙂 Feels good.

I’m so glad that you found the sacrament of reconciliation such a positive experience.

I am always very nervous going in. I tend to write on a piece of paper what I’ve got to confess. But when I come out and have been absolved it is like a weight has been lifted.

I hope you continue to experience the sacrament of reconciliation often.

I always liken confession to the dentist. Most people have a slight fear or dread when they know they are going (some of us more than others); but you always feel sqeuky clean afterwards.
