The neighborhood “toughs” were around the corner doing extreme sports stuff – bike flips in the air off a makeshift ramp and skateboarding off the roof and such with helmets and all, which from my mommy perspective was not any more comforting to observe! lol

**My bunch of boys are in the yard watching with a mixture of awe, horror, and anticipation. I go out back to see why everything has suddenly gone silent and ask one of the boys if his mother is kosher with this? Find out the “boy” is dad on his own skateboard. 😃 **

He strikes up the usually conversation with:
Do you run a daycare?
No, they’re all mine.
I was prepared for the usual response, but was pleasantly surprised and a bit unnerved by him saying,
"WOW! That’s so neat! Extreme sports is all about conquering fear and you must really have it down. We’ve only got 3 and they scare the bejesus out of us every day! But it sure is worth it to see such awesome people in the making isn’t it?"

Just made my day.:bounce: Yep, that’s me - extreme mama. conquering fear of dishes and diapers every day.😉

Awesome!!! Just goes to show us that there are still some really good people in this world… thanks for sharing… it has me smiling:)

That is so totally cool!!! I could just picture you having this conversation too…but in my imagination you were talking to my almost 17 yo skatboarding son…how funny!

that is really cool…i loved that story!🙂 👍

So cool, you rock! 😃

I thought it was funny the “kid” you were talking to turned out to be the dad, lol!

great story! too funny 🙂 it’s too bad more people can’t look at a large family from a more “out of the box” perspective like he did.

If Dad has three and is young enough to still be skateboarding, you may be an inspiration for more…sounds like he’s open to the idea, anyway.

What a nice thing to say, at any rate.

😃 He’s older than me by 6 years!

lol I will not be jumping onto a skateboard anytime soon.

That’s so darn cool. I had to take a screen shot and e-mail it to my wife.

👍
