Were the authors of the books in the bible infallible and not in possession of their free will when writing the books of the bible? If these are the words of God, then the writers just transcribed them, right?

Deare Pjs,

They were indeed divinely inspired and their work was infallible. But their free will was not in any way curtailed by the fact that the Holy Spirit was inspiring them. God can inspire us at any time without taking our free will away. We are free to go with it or not.
The authors of Scripture were holy men who wanted to do the will of God.

We know this from our expericence. When we pray for the guidance of the Holy Spirit, we are not praying for God to take our free will away. We voluntarily place our wills at His disposal.
This is true for any inspiration we receive–even from other people.
