It seems to me that the article could easily have been titled “what many Catholics get wrong about Cana.”
The movie presents an essentially Catholic version: Mary intercedes with her son to resolve the wedding party’s problem. But the author of this article reinforces the Gospel account. Mary does not ask Jesus to do anything. She only states the fact. “They have no wine.” She doesn’t presume to know what he will or will not do, simply telling the stewards “Do whatever he tells you.” He might have told them to just serve water instead of wine. But Jesus knew what he was going to do long before he even arrived.
