I don’t know why but when the KJV translates the Greek word ‘stachys’ as corn instead of grain, it bothers me.
Maybe because the fact that corn is from the Americas, and not brought to the other continents for another 1,500 years after this passage was written.
I thought some Protestants loved the KJV because it was the truest to the original Greek texts. There are other translated words that bother me also, like using the word ‘meat’ instead of food in John 6.
**Luke 6:1 **
And it came to pass on the second sabbath after the first, that he went through the corn fields; and his disciples plucked the ears of corn, and did eat, rubbing [them] in [their] hands.
