If a Roman Catholic priest decides to join the Anglican (Episcopal) Church because of his beliefs, are the sacraments he confers valid as he is part of the apostolic priesthood and was ordained as a Roman Catholic?
Usually it’s not because of a disagreement in matters of dogma that a Catholic priest will become an Anglican, but the lure of a relaxed discipline. However, in his decission to leave the only Church founded by Christ, his faith has become relaxed as well.
Any sacraments that he confects (administers), though illicit (unlawful), are quite valid.
