Well, soemeone posted I thought “fantasy is evil”. Well what about fantasy sucha s Lord of the Rings, which was write by a catholic. I know its nto straght forward alagory, however you find very real images of the catholic perspective. Is there anything wrong with a mature adult reading Tolken, ora young person? Some of the parts int eh books are itnence, I supose, I will agree with that.

There’s nothing wrong with Tolkien. If your child is that easily influenced that reading LOTR will make them do something stupid, than the parent failed to raise them properly. Period.

This premise is false. Fantasy is not necessarily morally objectionable any more so than any other literary genre, although individual works of fantasy may be. They might also be quite praiseworthy from a moral standpoint. This also holds true for individual works of science fiction, mysteries, westerns, romance, biography, alegory, poetry, business memo, campaign speech, website discussion forum post, or any other literary form.
