It amazes me that the Son of God himself was born not as a powerful emporer, or great king (indeed his kingdom is not of this world), or even as a rich man, but as a lowly tekton (carpenter? possibly stone mason? possibly day laborer? the exact translation of the Greek is disputed but its along those lines) from a backwater town in the middle of nowhere in the Roman Empire. He served the rich and built things for them. Yet look how God always triumphs!
