This year I taught one of the six Confirmation classes our parish has. This was the first year that I have taught the class. I had a very behaviorally challenging group of students (primarily 8th grade), but this evening they made me very proud.

Our parish had our confirmation service at the Cathedral (our church is too small) and they were very well behaved through the whole 2 1/4 hrs bilingual Mass.

The service was amazing! The bishop had to make 3 1/2 trips around the bottom step of the altar to confirm all 140 +/- young people from our parish.

this may be my favorite time of the year, after the Easter Vigil. I swear to you every year it is the same, the kids we had the most reservations about seem the most affected and changed. And I swear to you I am aware and sense when the Holy Spirit descends, it is real and palpable. Our Jr Hi LD-ADHD class made first communion recently and they were great, reverent, quiet, attentive and I was so proud (the crying smily does not show the hand waving at the face thing).
