Hi. I am new to this. I don’t know anything about the bible. I have not read it. I need to find specifics on this topic and don’t know where to begin. Please advise asap.

The Commandment, Thou shalt not kill
Exodus 20:13; . Deuteronomy 5:17

scborromeo.org/ccc/p3s2c2a5.htm

Exodus 20:13 : Genesis 9:6; Exodus 21:12; Leviticus 24:17; Matthew 5:21; 19:18; Mark 10:19; Luke 18:20; Romans 13:9; James 2:11

For instance, Leviticus 24:17
'If anyone takes the life of a human being, he must be put to death." Which is scripture’s way of saying how serious to kill another person is to God

"You have heard that it was said to the people long ago, ‘Do not murder, and anyone who murders will be subject to judgment.’ Matthew 5:21

You know the commandments: 'Do not murder, do not commit adultery, do not steal, do not give false testimony, do not defraud, honor your father and mother. Mark 10:19

“For he who said, “Do not commit adultery,” also said, “Do not murder.” If you do not commit adultery but do commit murder, you have become a lawbreaker”. James 2:11

If you ask the question I fear there may be pain and sorrow behind the question, so my heart and prayers go to you and whoever is suffering in any way. God bless you, and grant ease to those who are suffering, and their loved ones

The commandment in the original Hebrew is, “Do no murder.”

This also forbids murdering yourself.

Mercy killing and PAS are muder.

5 Then David said to the young man who told him, “How do you know that Saul and his son Jonathan are dead?” 6* And the young man who told him said, “By chance I happened to be on Mount Gilboa; and there was Saul leaning upon his spear; and lo, the chariots and the horsemen were close upon him. 7 And when he looked behind him, he saw me, and called to me. And I answered, ‘Here I am.’ 8 And he said to me, ‘Who are you?’ I answered him, ‘I am an Amalekite.’ 9 And he said to me, ‘Stand beside me and slay me; for anguish has seized me, and yet my life still lingers.’ 10 So I stood beside him, and slew him, because I was sure that he could not live after he had fallen; and I took the crown which was on his head and the armlet which was on his arm, and I have brought them here to my lord.” 11 Then David took hold of his clothes, and rent them; and so did all the men who were with him; 12 and they mourned and wept and fasted until evening for Saul and for Jonathan his son and for the people of the LORD and for the house of Israel, because they had fallen by the sword. 13 And David said to the young man who told him, “Where do you come from?” And he answered, “I am the son of a sojourner, an Amalekite.” 14 David said to him, “How is it you were not afraid to put forth your hand to destroy the LORD’s anointed?” 15 Then David called one of the young men and said, “Go, fall upon him.” And he smote him so that he died. 16 And David said to him, “Your blood be upon your head; for your own mouth has testified against you, saying, ‘I have slain the LORD’s anointed.’”
2 Samuel 1:5-16

Someone very closed to me had been in agony for more
than six months . paining daily , and no medicine, nothing
helped to reduce his pain. Only God can reduce it and
I truly don’t know how , because at some moments , he
smiled again and fell in peace. To tell you the truth, I thought
about mercy killing, but to be done by God not myself.
When I asked the priest about the matter he answered me:
No one can see but God How much Mercy and graces
will flow for him and for everyone who cared for
him. It is a crime to make mercy killing because,
by this way will stop God’s Mercy to cover his
soul and every other close to him.
I explain this to the poster I wish that you will understand it.
May God help you and help your beloved ones.
With God’s blessings.

Thank you all for your replies and prayers. God has a plan for each and everyone of us. We don’t know what that is and my mom always said He doesn’t give us more than we can handle.
