What are CAF members favorite Gospel songs?

I really love Gospel music, and I’m wondering if anyone else here might also have a taste for it.

I feel sanctified music is one of life’s greatest pleasures. Would anyone be willing to share their favorites?

And when I say “Gospel music,” I mean popular American music recorded on phonographs from the nineteen teens 'til the present.

I like anything by blind songwriter Fannie J. Crosby, esp. Blessed Assurance.

Ah, the “contemplatives’ anthem!”

Both of my parents had that sung at their funerals. Mom’s was sung by Ralna English of the Welk Show (she emailed a music file). Mom was friends with the Welk cast and even their kids.

As with secular music, I like a lot of stuff from the seventies and eighties and could probably list dozens of artists and hundreds of songs. I guess Andrea Crouch comes to mind because of his passing this year, and because he is the epitome of phrase “gospel music”.

As with secular music, I like a lot of stuff from the seventies and eighties and could probably list dozens of artists and hundreds of songs. I guess Andrea Crouch comes to mind because of his passing this year, and because he is the epitome of phrase “gospel music”.

Yup. My guilty pleasure is watching those Gaither shows. They have the best singers.
Dave Phelps is the best. But, I’m not sure all of what they do is considered gospel, but they’re sung by Gospel artists alright.

Danny Gaither was awesome. I saw the original trio in concert a couple of times. I also like the New Gaither Vocal Band, but that is a whole different genre of gospel music. I did a little bit of gospel quartet singing back in the day myself.
