One person may like football, another hats, I like monster movies, my sister likes The Waltons (something I can never understand!)…
What is the point of all these unique tastes when we are all set to enjoy the same ‘object’?
Even if they are all ‘hints’ of some well-known attribute of God (like Love or Glory), that does not explain how specific tastes can be. A friend of mine loves fantasy (like myself) and shares my enjoyment for ‘The Hobbit’. That friend does not understand my enjoyment of (here we go, I know I’ve brought this one up before but it’s ideal for the point I’m making…)DR Who…my brother does but his ‘angle’ has a subtle difference as well; where I adore the cybermen he vastly prefers sontarans…
Now all these ‘words’ might be confusing to those unaquainted with these stories; none the less, I hope I still have conveyed my point. Tastes differ in very ‘particular’ ways and we surely cannot assume, not with such ‘broad strokes’, that such detailed differences are hints towards some unrelated, universally destined goal?

But, if God causes our telos, is He a fulfillment of those tastes and, if not, and they are clues what was God’s intention for each of us having diferent tastes?

(Sorry if this is all a bit disjointed- I’m not feeling too well so I’m probably not at my most articulate!)

Good question. Having different tastes helps make us unique individuals, making the world
more interesting. God bless you.

As an apple tree among the trees of the wood,
so is my beloved among young men.
With great delight I sat in his shadow,
and his fruit was sweet to my taste.

God likes variety (look at the creation, even animals of the same specie look all different and have different personalities). He wants to have a personal relationship with each of us. If we were all exactly the same that would defeat His purpose. He might have created just one person.

If every snowflake is unique and unrepeatable, how much more so for people!

Our different talents and interests are necessary in order to have a society. If we were all engineers and scientists, we would starve. If we were all farmers, we would be subsistence farmers (on the edge of starvation). As it is, engineers build farm equipment and dams, scientists make nitrogen fertilizers out of air, and farmers grow lots of food. Then we have teachers, musicians, soldiers, truck drivers, priests, parents, brick layers, computer programmers, clothing manufacturers, and so on. How would the world work without each and every one of us?
