My question is born out of trying to better understand the nature of ‘rights’ & freedoms as it relates to this specific story.
( as you read & form your opinion about me, the post author, I am in complete 100% agreement with everything our church teaches; I have zero issues following what Pope Benedict defines for the Church, in his role as the vicar of Christ).
I stumbled upon a site and a specific posting that has me…?? …I think the emotion is ‘confused’.
The site supports LGBTQ rights, and the right to “marriage equity”.
Buddy posted a sign: “I know that it’s NOT real freedom unless it’s for ALL of US!”.
There is a certain truth in what he wrote; yet, there is something that is logically wrong with it.
I have often heard it said on CA, that ALL rights are based on that fundamental right to life; couldn’t agree more! But then what other ‘rights’ do we have as humans?
What do you make of Buddy’s statement: “I know that it’s NOT real freedom unless it’s for ALL of US!”.
In my ‘right’ to continued spiritual growth and understanding(!), your gracious comments please about “Buddy’s” comment.
(( for the record, I basically understand and agree fully with the Catholic view on marriage, abortion, SSA, etc., ))
