Hello.

What are some good Catholic apologetic books $40 or under?

Thanks. God bless.🙂

A book I enjoyed reading is *Rome Sweet Home *by Scott Hahn
Almost all Scott Hahn books are apologetic type books, they give reasons for believing what we believe.
There is a book called the *Catholic Source book *that states where a lot of our beleifs come from.
I dont know if you have a Catholic bookstore near your home, but they should have an apologetics section.

My favorite book by Scott Hahn is probably Reasons to Believe. Rome Sweet Home is also excellent.

The Fathers of the Church, by Mike Aquilina, is a good introduction to the works of the Early Fathers of the first few centuries.

My favorite book about the faith in general outside of the bible and the catechism is Orthodoxy, by G.K. Chesterton. For books specifically dealing with Jesus, Life of Christ by Bishop Sheen is highly recommended.

Catholic Answers has a huge list of books here. I haven’t read all of them, but none of the ones I’ve read have been bad.

Perhaps the most famous apologetic work of the last 20 years is the founder of this website Karl Keating’s book Catholicism and Fundamentalism. It covers the “usual” arguments against Catholicism very well.

For an apologetic of the Catholic Bible, I recommend Gary Michuta’s Why Catholic Bibles Are Bigger.

Another good one I read in my early studies was Tim Staples’ Nuts and Bolts which covers a variety of subjects.

And one more covering a wide range is Patrick Madrid’s Where is That in the Bible?

I recommend any and all! The last 2 are shorter and read quicker. The first two are more extensive. :o
