What are some "graces" you can pray for?

You know the Sacred Heart Novena Padre Pio said every day? Well, like many novenas, it has that “I ask for the grace of …” part where you fill in the blank. So what are some things you can put in that blank.

I’ve often put in virtues like Wisdom, Charity, Patience, Humility…

But would these be “graces” or virtues? I’m not trying to be scrupulous…I know God understands what I am saying… 🙂 But for my own understanding, what is the correct use of grace?

What graces do you pray for?
 
I often pray for my family:
“In Your mercy keep us away from sin.
In Your mercy keep us in the center of Your will.
In Your mercy help us love You more and more.”
 
I ask for different ones, but the one that I know I need the most at my current stage of life is: self-knowledge. I need to acknowledge my sins before I can go forward.
 
I read somewhere that he used this prayer to pray for all the people who had asked him to pray for them. I use it for my prayer list. Maybe that’s not the right way to use it, but so far that’s what I’ve been doing.
 
So how would one fill in the sentence “I now ask for the grace of _____” ?
