What are the conditions for the annulment of a catholic marriage?

For a declaration of nullity to be granted it must be proven that a valid marriage never came into existence in the first place. This is why annulment investigations take a serious look at the circumstances as they existed on the wedding day. Three basic areas are considered: *form *(the wedding), *capacity *of the parties to marry, and *consent *of the parties.
