Also, for an eastern Catholic, there are reserved sins which means the bishop would have to be involved.Q. 607. Give an example of the “right dispositions” for Penance and for the Holy Eucharist.
A. The right dispositions for Penance are:
1. To confess all our mortal sins as we know them;
2. To be sorry for them, and
3. To have the determination never to commit them or others again.
If a person can do so, desire for any revenge should be eliminated, for even the serious thought of doing evil to another is a sin, although justice can be pursued. Sometimes there is an involuntary desire. The offending person may still be an enemy.What about forgiving another, who is unacknowledging of their offense againt you?
Matthew 535 But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High; for He Himself is kind to ungrateful and evil men. 36 Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.
7 Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.
