Yeah.

It can also be a town in Michigan, or one in Norway, or in the Cayman Islands :):)🙂

Infernus is Latin, Hades & Tartarus are Greek, Sheol & Gehenna are Hebrew, Hell is English. Your question is a bit like asking what is the difference between “love” and “amore.”
Sheol is the place of the dead and not specifically designated towards the place of punishment where the wicked are confined.

Anymore, “hell” in vernacular English is almost exclusively used towards the eternal abode of the damned, although it can also mean “the place of the dead” where Jesus went to preach the gospel, as described in the epistles of St Peter, to lead the righteous dead into eternal peace.

The English word - which is not commonly used - to specifically refer to the eternal abode of the damned is “The Netherworld”, meaning “The Lower Plane”. This is the Lake of Fire described in St John the Evangelist’s Apocalypse on the isle of Patmos, at Fatima, Portugal, etc., where they witnessed the doom of Satan and his spiritual children.

To me,I was taught in religious class The word,s were Heaven, Purgatory, and Hell, and when I read religious books ,the word Hell appears more than the other word,s you mention,so I know I heard the word Hades before, but once again the word Hell,is printed more.
