What are the differences between instrumentalism and utilitarianism?

If I were to take them at face value the “mechanical” vibe I get from those words make me think that it’s about the whatever means can be justified so long as it helps achieve an end.I feel that it’s important to distinguish the differences between doing something out of utilitarianism and instrumentalism when you think that someone is materialistic a/o object-oriented.

Instrumentalism strikes me as something I’ve more often seen as “consequentialism”, i.e., the view that the morality of an action is determined by its consequences. Utilitarianism is a type of consequentialism where the consequences of interest are those that produce either happiness/pleasure or suffering.
