what are the proper things to say in confession?

If you’re sure he didn’t absolve you and you Confessed mortal sins, then you must go back.

Though it’s hard to believe a priest could forget Absolution, I’m sure he didn’t withhold it on purpose. If so, he would have talked to you about it.
 
I was a young altar boy in the early 70’s, and went to Parochial school. I was taught to say “Bless me Father, for I have sinned…”
This statement should not be taken out of context. I am asking the priest (Christ’s representative on earth) to bless me after he (by the authority of Christ himself) forgives me, so I can “go and sin no more”. It’s easy to say I’m asking for a blessing for sinning, but this is ludicrous, and couldn’t be farther from true.
