What are truths you see about coronavirus pandemic?

I am not a medical expert, but here what I see the reason the world cannot stop virus from the beginning:

No countries really understood how the virus transmission was except China might be know about asymptomatic infections after two months from mid Jan to March, but did not reveal anything or what they found to Western world or WHO.

We saw they isolated everybody; numerous deaths at home; many infections in an isolated residence building; arrested any one breaking quarantine; spray disinfection everywhere; test everybody, both asymptomatic and presymptomatic ones, at Wuhan before releasing the healthy ones. So, they knew
firmly asymptomatic transmission.

China in turn protested travel bans of US.

If this is true then the Communist china hated the world too much! Why did none of Chinese travelers and students reveal the truth to outside world except two countries, VN and Russia, declared the border closing immediately without any protest from China.

Please add all other truths you find.

  1. It kills people
  2. It leaves otherwise healthy people with debilitating long term illnesses
  3. There are people out there who dont believe this virus exists.
  4. It has the ability to unite us globally and reach out to countries who need extra help with combating this virus.
Most importantly. God is in charge.

That a distressing number of people have no idea how science works. When the experts learn something new, these people are complaining “they lied to us!” No, that’s how science works – if you’re doing it right, you’re learning. :roll_eyes:
 
Toddy you changed your thread into something a bit more controversial after we answered. Are you still asking the same initial question?
 
The novel coronavirus was new to us. Especially at first, there were a lot of questions, for example, how did it spread? As our medical professionals learned more about it, decisions were made by our leaders on how best to respond to it and to slow the spread. Were these decisions made solely in the best interest of the public, or were there perhaps political motives also at play, in particular how these decisions might affect an upcoming election? I suppose each of us will have to decide if this is a possibility for ourselves. I continue to pray and hope that the terrible effects of this virus lessen, be it through a vaccine, safe practices, or perhaps by some other unforeseen way, so we can get back to the good things we enjoyed before he pandemic.
 
You (@toddy) seem to be interested mainly in “truths” that are political, and anti-China in particular. If those are truths in fact, they are of secondary importance.

I think a much more relevant truth is our response as a society to the disease. Countries like Germany in which the people make choices to promote the common good have done much better than countries like the United States, where personal liberty seems to be the dominant principle.

Covid does not discriminate political views, race, or professions; etc.

China locked down Wuhan on Jan 23 and rushed to build more hospitals with operation within a week. They knew human-to-human transmission and asymptomatic infections immediately with EMS tests upon their healthcare workers at least around Jan 18 or before that.
 
The virus is absolutely real, most likely created in a lab. The scam is the irrational fear. Regardless of what we find out, the sheep will continue to wear masks and social distance. This whole things shows how stupid we are. What we know is that media can make us do anything they want even if it directly contradicts logic and reason.
 
The coronavirus pandemic might have been prevented if not for Chinese cover-ups in the early days of the outbreak and the World Health Organization “parroting” Beijing propaganda, according to a damning audit from the House Foreign Affairs Committee.

The 96-page report — obtained by The Post ahead of its planned Monday release — says the Chinese Communist Party destroyed evidence and buried troubling data, while nationalizing the supply chains and limiting exports of US companies 3M and General Motors, keeping key goods in the country.

“It is beyond doubt that the CCP actively engaged in a cover-up designed to obfuscate data, hide relevant public health information, and suppress doctors and journalists who attempted to warn the world,” reads the report, authored by Republican members of the Democrat-held committee.

Had China been more transparent and proactive when the first signs of the burgeoning health crisis emerged in Wuhan in late 2019, the outbreak could have been largely contained — potentially saving hundreds of thousands of lives worldwide, the pols wrote.

“Research shows the CCP could have reduced the number of cases in China by up to 95 percent had it fulfilled its obligations under international law and responded to the outbreak in a manner consistent with best practices,” the report said, citing a study on Medrxiv, a Yale University-linked online clearinghouse for medical manuscripts.

“It is highly likely the ongoing pandemic could have been prevented,” the report said.

This is the greatest documents since the pandemic from Wuhan. Help readers to see the big clear picture, understand the truth of all truths our nation and the world including the innocent Chinese people have being confronted.

I am just blessed and guided by the Holy Spirit when questioning and knew the real truth were out there in the woods.

It doesn’t really the heck matter two cents how the COVID-19 got to the U.S.

It’s here. It’s destroying our economy, our school systems, our way of life. Actually, the virus isn’t destroying these things–our reaction and strategies of “shut down” and “stay home” are destroying everything.

It was OK during the warm months–April - Sept. But now that the cold weather is here, it will be horrific. People can’t sit outside at restaurants–oh, I know!–some of you say, “Good riddance, I never ate at restaurants anyway.”

Well most Americans DID eat at restaurants often. When my dad was alive (R.I.P.) he and about 40 other seniors met at a small town McDonald’s every evening at around 9 p.m. to talk about everything from world politics to the state of the corn crop. Most of them didn’t eat a full meal (Big Mac, Large Fries, 64 oz soft drink!), but they would have a small snack and just talk and enjoy being together.

After my dad died, that McDonald’s sent flowers to the funeral along with a lovely note about how much they will miss him.

This is our culture–this is how Americans live–and now it’s gone.

My brother said that it’s easy enough to eat at home, and in fact, he has lost 20 pounds eating at home–simple foods like oatmeal, burgers, sandwiches, salads. BUT…he misses sitting in a restaurant and meeting new people and talking to them about their lives and histories. He’s lonely–he calls me much more often, and I’m glad to hear from him.

I play for choirs and I am half of a duo that entertains in our city. I MISS THIS!!!

And I miss going to Mass.

I really hate this “new normal” and I want it to go away.

The best Christmas gift we could get in the U.S. is an effective, safe vaccine.
 
Everybody frustrated like you felt, but one small mistake,
and the whole life, future, everything can go ashtray.

It is wrong to God! Why? Ask Him.
Anything anywhere God did not please, got plaques.

Luxury cruisers, tourism air travel, sportings; etc.
God often does not explain, but you must find out yourself when or after it happens.

The restaurants cannot heal me,
But I found the Spirit helped me to make foods from the garden and His medicine vegetables healed me. So that is how God wants to save my life through the lockdown, pandemic.

Most did not care to please God enough, but care to please sins enough.
It is another truth I see from the pandemic and I am combining a list of sins.
