Unfortunately CAF has become spiritually unhealthy for me over the last 6 months, so I will give up CAF and replace it with adoration and more prayer. Both will benefit me spiritually; even more so if I leave CAF permanently.
CAF is spiritually unhealthy for many people.

I too am giving it up for lent, along with One Bread One Body at Christian Forums.

I am going to (try to) add the Office of Readings to my daily prayer life. I already try to do Morning, Evening, and Night Prayers, but I going to a stronger effort to do them more frequently.

Getting off CAF. Bye guys. Other things for God and my family. How can I delete my account?

I’m giving up Facebook and using that free time to improve my prayer life and reading and studying my bible.

I am also committing to going back to Church and Eucharistic Adoration.

It’s about time. :yup:
Me too! And I’m already feeling a little shaky. “What if I miss something?”

I’m going to try to sleep on the floor.

We’ll see how long this lasts.
I actually thought this might be a good thing for anytime about a week ago. We had to replace our mattress, and after getting a new one I thought “What did people use for thousands of years? Not a super plush 14” pad. They slept sometimes on a mat on the floor!" God Bless you on this Lenten season! I hope this works out for you and you’re able to still get the rest you need.

My health is pretty bad, so I generally offer that up to God … but I also complain about my health to family, so I am going to try to give up the complaining about it portion and just offer up my health issues to our Lord.

I plan on trying to add some fasting to my daily routine.

Also will be trying to add a lot more prayer and spiritual reading.

For me it’s going to be prayer. I’ve not had it easy this past few months and I need to get better at keeping up a prayer life when I am not in the mood.

I decided to read about at least one different saint a day, there are many different ones that I really don’t know much about. I also hope to donate to our church’s food pantry every week.

Our bishops have encouraged the more traditional Maronite (Eastern Catholic) fasting and abstinance. From the Synod of Mt. Lebanon, 1736: every weekday of Lent is a day of fasting and abstinance from meat, and dairy products. Fasting involves eating and drinking nothing at all (except water and meds) from midnight until noon .The rest of the day, normal meals may be taken. Saturdays and Sundays are exempt from fasting and abstainjng, and feast days.

Prayer: Praying at Planned Parenthood every day, stations every Friday, Office of the Passion periodically, private tenebrae vigils during Holy Week.

Fasting: Fasting from all food and drinks except water, coffee and tea until mass every day (12pm mass M-F, 11am mass Sunday, 8:30am mass Saturday)

Abstinence: Going vegan and dessert/fruitless/juiceless (except V8)

Almsgiving: Giving enough to local food bank to feed 12 people for all of Lent.

Retreat: 6 day retreat at a perpetual adoration chapel

Mortifications: Getting up at 4am (this may kill me); being in bed by 9pm; avoiding all social media, news, music, and fiction.
