The first 2 examples are the result of the CC’s stance on it’s supreme destructive power over anything that does not, or will not conform to the centuries old doctrines of the “forefathers” etc… etc… The second 2 quotes are the birthing of it. Oh and this is just but a very small example of the history of the church…what it has represented, what it has fostered…thereby what is has become. It’s your church…and this is what it is built on… Does it represent anything good? Of course …but so does yoga…which doesn’t happen to proselytize, witness, righteously judge, and condemn people however nuanced it is. There is an underlying perversity of power that has grown and grown within western religion, and it is no wonder. People have asked where it is written that popes supported military means, etc… etc… below is just a small example from encyclical test…

“Certainly the one who denies that the temporal sword is in the power of Peter has not listened well to the word of the Lord commanding: ‘Put up thy sword into thy scabbard’ [Mt 26:52]. Both, therefore, are in the power of the Church, that is to say, the spiritual and the material sword, but the former is to be administered for the Church but the latter by the Church; the former in the hands of the priest; the latter by the hands of kings and soldiers, but at the will and sufferance of the priest.”
Pope Boniface
…"Furthermore, we declare, we proclaim, we define that it is absolutely necessary for salvation that every human creature be subject to the Roman Pontiff. "
