I don’t think this has been done yet.

The choices are just going to be:
Marvel
DC
Other

And feel free to add in the specific ones you liked:

I’ll go first:
Thor: (my siberian husky is named Loki)
Peter Parker, the spectacular Spiderman
The Incredible Hulk
The Silver Surfer
Iron Man

John

Marvel is my favorite but there are some titles in DC that I enjoy as well.

I like Thor as well and felt they should have done more with him having the Odin-force. I liked the Avengers until they were disassembled. Haven’t read ANY Spider-Man books since Gwen Stacy was murdered in 1974. Also use to follow the Green Lantern until Hal Jordon went crazy and killed the Corps. Space Ghost looks like it has potential.

I would like to see some Marvel heavyweights go up against some of DC’s heavyweights. In particular … * Batman VS Captain America – advantage Cap!
  • Thor VS Superman – This SHOULD go to Superman since he is both stronger and faster than Thor except Superman is vulnerable to mystical attacks and would not be able to defend against Thor’s hammer.
  • Quaser VS Green Lantern --personal feelings aside, this would go to Quasar.
  • She-Hulk VS Rampage – too close to call in my book.

I always found Jack Chick’s "Hate Comics"
amusing in a strange sorta way 🙂

I like small press comics the best:

Knights of the Dinner Table (Kenzer & Co.)
ElfQuest (WaRP) (OOP)
Evangeline (Comico/First) (OOP)

Marvel.

I especially love the Fantastic Four, Submariner, and Spiderman:) . I think Marvel also did a good job on the Pope John Paul II and Saint Francis comic books. 👍

Marvel for sure. Wolverine is my favourite hero and the X-Men are the best team. I also really like the Hulk and Spiderman.

Although DC has some really classic hero’s like Superman and Batman, I never thought the writing was as good as marvel.

When I WAS into comic books YEARS ago, I must admit, I REALLY loved X-Men!! If I were to get back into it, I mean REALLY back into it, I would become obsessed with them. Fictionally, I think they are the coolest & most 3-D characters. …However, I don’t THINK I’ll check them out anytime soon (at least not go out of my way to do so).

Right now the best comics are Astonishing X-Men, New Avengers and Daredevil.

DC isn’t putting out anything good right now.

When I was a kid, I used to love the series called “Haunted Tank” about an Army Sergant who commanded an M-4 Sherman tank in WWII and was “protected” by the ghost of Confederate General William Tecumseh Sherman.

When I was a kid, I loved Wolverine and the X-men. I was a huge fan of Batman, especially when they started the Years series. Other favorite was Sergant Rock.

I don’t know if any of the current Batman series are being done well as I don’t read them, but I like Batman a lot. There is often very good morality in Batman, most of which was kept out of the live action movies (So far). Has anyone seen the animated movie “Mask of the phantasm”? This explores Batman’s partial celibacy and his vow never to kill his enemies. There was one comic book called “The Killing Joke” where Batman speculated that that the Joker was driven to become evil by a painful experience, just like Batman was driven to fight crime by seeing his parents murdered. Batman pleaded with the joker to allow him to try to rehabilitate him, and this was after the joker had tortured and murdered many people. The next Batman movie will be released this summer, and I’ve seen the trailer. It looks like its going to be the best of all.

The Killing Joke is a comic for the ages. An absolute classic.

I remember that one. But Sgt. Stuart’s ghostly advisor was his namesake, confederate General J.E.B. Stuart, not General Sherman. The Sherman tank he drove was indeed named after Sherman, but Sherman was a Union General, not a Confederate. General Stuart was sent to help the tanker at the request of the ghost of Alexander the Great.
