I am not a fan of them(read too many AP Eng books… so someone would have to convince me that they are not that bad… but also had a bad experience once with some dufous in my class calling me “pookie” AHHH!), but if I had to chose, use Lori (my nickname) or honey…

Good to see you, Fashina! I don’t like darling. DH and I call each other “dear” occasionally. That would be really annoying to have a classmate call you that. I would list nicknames people have called me but I don’t want CAF users to call me the weirder ones as they can get on my nerves and some of them are private (names Mom has affectionately called me for years, that sort of thing).

He calls me: Sweet Baby, Sweetheart, Sweetie, Baby, Mumma and “hunny” (“Mama” but in a redneck voice.)

I call him: Babe, Stinky baby (when he farts or needs a shower…I’m so endearing :rolleyes: )

We use our real names when we’re mad at one another. It’s weird hearing my name come from him because I’m not used to him saying it.
 
My beloved calls me Bubba, or Bubs for short.:o I’m not sure why or how, but when my youngest was about a year old she went through a phase when she called me Bubba, too, instead of mom.

I’d kind of like something sweet and mushy, but that’s not my husband. I call him honey sometimes, but usually just his first name.
 
We never got into pet names. I don’t know why. I know my friend and her husbnad have pet names for eachother all the time. We are affectionate, but not like that I guess.

This reminds me of George and Susan on Seinfeld when Jerry and his girlfriend were calling each other “Schmoopie.” 😃
 
Don’t EVER call he “honey”, “sweetie”, “baby” or “dear” :mad:.
 
“Sweetheart” for girlfriends… actually, only the last one. “Darling” or “love” for girlfriends or very good friends (not guys, though… with guys, it’s always by names). “Sweetie” I don’t like being thrown around… it doesn’t sound right. And it’s sissy. Works as a pet short form of “sweetheart”. “Honey” is a bit more general, I think, but I hate the concept (Honey? How about strawberry jam?). I also remember a couple of more individualised ones. The girl whom I love but who has probably dumped me for good got Hotbrains… a funny one to say I was attracted to her mind and personality more than looks (and was she beautiful… never seen a prettier one).
 
We have a generic pet name for everyone inour family both us and all the kids are called Spoochie.

It all started when my son was 3 and needed grommets in his ears so he couldn’t hear very well. We used to listen to Monty Python a lot. There is one skit where 2 old women are gushing over one of the women’s child (who is a 40 year old Member of Parliament). One of them says that the child has “Eeky peeky eyeballs” Dan heard this as Oochie spoochie eyballs. It was too god to let go and now we all use it for all of us.
 
My dad calls me Jinx.

My Hubby calls me booby.

No one else is allowed a pet name for me due to the previous examples!
 
Well, I used to call the dog “dog” and the cat “cat.”
That got too confusing when “dog” was with other dogs and “cat” was with other cats. So, I thought I would call “dog” “cat” and “cat” “dog.” Now, they’re confused. I’m confused. I guess you could say I don’t have any favorite pet names. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
