What brought you to believe in God?

Without faith reading any books won’t make you to believe, but they do help. But faith is always the key. Faith in God as opposed to knowledge of God is always more pleasing to God I would think, and allows the person to be more humble.

I agree totally…and not surprisingly, it’s one of the main ‘points of attack’ for non-believers to use against us.

I wish I had no doubts whatsoever, I wish I required no ‘rationalization’ for my faith…but, to an extent, I do.

It can be frustrating, especially being in such a ‘new’ stage to my faith…I often don’t feel worthy compared to other Catholics because I’m so green in many ways, and often feel frustrated having to explain my faith to my atheist friends. I don’t want to shut either out…but, at times I have to pull away and just keep it between ‘Rick and God’ in order to grow.

Even so, having this this faith, regardless of how small in comparision to others, is an absolute God send. It’s strangely changed so much in my life that I was unable to change when I lived on self-will.

Thanks to everyone who posted, I really enjoy hearing other people’s stories.
 
I always had the seed of belief even in my darkest moments of doubts…people-wise, it was a friend of mine and a priest who brought me back from my dark days…Scripture-wise it is Lord Jesus who is my passion:heart: :bowdown:
