Hi,
Ive noticed the talk of what is a sin and what isnt a sin in islam.
For those who have not been following, Islam believes some ‘sins’ to be a ‘mistake’. I know, can be confusing hey…
Anyway, i would like to know exactly what do muslims consider to be a sin?
I understand this question could be quite broad, but this is a whole new thread so we can have the jist of it, so fire away…

Sometimes, I think it is if a non-Muslim does it, it is a sin. If it was a Muslim, it was a mistake.😉

When examining what is construed as sin in Islam, here is the golden rule which is so very easy to remember:

The greatest sin in Islam is to associate partners with the Creator and if one dies while holding on to this belief, then they will NEVER be forgiven for this sin.

There is a chance that all other sins might be forgiven on the Day of Judgment… but NOT the sin of associating partners with Allah.

And so, why is there this Christian obsession with examining the Muslim view of the “sin” of Adam and Eve?

“Nay, We fling (send down) the truth (this Qur’an) against the falsehood (disbelief), so it destroys it, and behold, it (falsehood) is vanished. And woe to you for that (lie) which you ascribe (to Us) (against Allah by uttering that Allah has a wife and a son).”
Is there a reason you choose to have this verse as your signature?

You come to a Catholic message board and you choose a quote which calls Christianity a falsehood that needs to be destroyed (by Islam); furthermore, this quote also threatens those who teach the truth of Christianity: “And woe to you for that (lie) which you ascribe against Allah by uttering that Allah has a wife and a son.” Why incite arguments by posting this quote, when you know that we Catholics would find it offensive?

I respect your freedom to believe what you want, but I think you have chosen this quote primarily because it is offensive to Christians. I find this verse to be highly insulting to my belief that Christ is the true, living Son of God.

I have changed my signature to another translated version of the same verse.

And in case you have not already noticed, the Qur’an is meant to be provocative at certain passages within it.

I say to you that Islam is a dangerous and UGLY abomination to Christianity. Its anti-Christ and if I had the power I would destroy the Religion of Islam.

this Religion is based on the rantings of a man who was hell bent on hate and power hungry. Muhammed was illiterate and uneducated at best. He was nothing short of a criminal. The quran speaks almost of truth in some parts but despises anyone who doesnt follow. Its an intolerant religion that will be abolished one day. Its that day I look forward to…
